Common questions

Statutory Accounts, in short.

What are statutory accounts?

Statutory accounts are annual financial statements that a limited company prepares to meet its legal reporting obligations. They summarise the company's financial activity and position for the relevant financial year.

When do my company accounts need to be filed?

The deadline depends on your company's circumstances and filing history. Many UK private limited companies must file their first accounts 21 months after incorporation and subsequent accounts 9 months after the end of the financial year. We can help you confirm your applicable deadline.

What information will you need from me?

Typically, we will need your bookkeeping records, bank statements, sales and purchase information, details of assets and liabilities, and any other relevant financial documents. We will provide a tailored checklist.

Can you explain the figures in my accounts?

Yes. We can talk you through the key figures and help you understand what they say about your company's financial position.
